Good thing is that the delta between Beast Hunter’s and other decks’ win rate got reduced a bit – maybe people learned how to play against it better, maybe they picked some more counter decks, but right now it’s “only” 2-3% better than other decks and not 5%+. It turns out that the nerf wasn’t THAT big of a deal, and the deck is also quite nice against Hunters, so it’s like a third or fourth most popular deck on the ladder right now. The only thing that changed is that Skeleton Mage (and other Mage variants like Hero Power and even Big Spell) has made a big comeback – after the previous nerfs to Magister Dawngrasp, it has nearly disappeared from the ladder, but now it’s getting quite popular again. An extra week didn’t change that either – most of the talking points from my last decks roundup still stand, so there’s not point repeating them. Some decks jumped up or down the ladder, but the balance remained roughly similar in the end. While initially, the set looked quite good, it wasn’t powerful enough to turn the tides – the strongest cards simply slotted into already existing builds without changing that much overall.
